I don’t make perfume about my writing — the writing and the scent are the same act. STORII began as an outlet and became a practice: poetry translated into perfume, and now painting translated into devotional objects. The work is how I metabolize a life, and the mediums change as I do.The Process.

Every STORII fragrance begins with a memory. From that memory I build the structure of the idea — the feeling, the place, the moment it has to hold — and then I translate it twice: onto the page as poetry or story, and at the bench as scent. Sometimes the writing comes first, sometimes the formula does, but they are always drawn from the same source. Each fragrance is released alongside its text because neither is complete without the other — the chapbook isn't packaging, it's the other half of the work.
